Mountains Beyond Mountains

A. I found this excerpt to be very informative. Not only did it describe Dr. Farmer and his conquest to help the world, but it also informed the reader with background information on Haiti, a prominent place in Dr. Farmer's life. Though the story was longer than the first, it still kept my attention. Very similar to the case of Elzeard Bouffier, it is uplifting to see someone who is so dedicated and passionate about bettering the environment and society. Dr. Farmer is truly an inspiration.
B. "A small group of thoughtful, committed citizens" is the only thing that can make a real, legitimate impact on the world because these committed citizens, though they are numbered, possess a passion and this passion can take them anywhere. With the right amount of motivation, anything can be accomplished. Farmer is the supreme example of this because he is just one man but he is curing and helping thousands of people which will ultimately change the world.

( P.S. Sorry I couldn't post this as a comment, the questions are saved under draft and I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I needed to post 'em.)
