Adaptation of a Plant - The tomato plant grew around the structure that was in its way
Adaptation of an Animal - This is my cat Fred. He used to live outside but we found him and now he lives in the house and outside

Angiosperm - A flowering plant
Annelid - Another name for an earthworm
Autotroph - Trees, which produce their own food

Carbohydrate Fibrous - A tomato which contains fibrous, or good, carbohydrates

Cnidarian - Jellyfish, which are invertebrate
Commensialism - The cat and dog live together without fighting each other
Conifer Leaf - A pine leaf
Deciduous Leaf - Leaves that change colors and fall off as the seasons change
Ectotherm - A Shark and a Turtle which are both cold blooded
Endotherm - A deer, which is warm blooded. This was taken at Fire Island
Eukaryote - An animal with cells that form complex structures
Exoskeleton - A tortoise has its skeleton outside of its body
Fleshy fruit with seed - A watermelon!
Gastropod - Another name for a snail
Keratin - A major component in skin

Epithelial Tissue - Covers the surface of the entire body

Littoral Zone Organism - This turtle was lives on the shore of beaches

Xerophyte - It's kind of hard to see, but it is a small cactus which is able to survive with little water

Phloem- living tissue that transports nutrients in vascular plants.
Basidiomycete- a large group of fungi including mushrooms.
Frond- a large leaf with many divisions.
Bryophyte- land plants that lack vascular tissue. Mosses are a type of bryophyte.
Keratin- A strong protein found in nails, skin, and hair.
Deciduous leaf- leaves from trees that are lost once a year.
