Summer Reading Assignment

A) The story was a very enjoyable read. It is amazing, even though it is a fable, that a man can do so much to a small place. The face that the man was able to change a deserted desert into a flourishing community is amazing. This passage was a good read because it didn't contain a lot of science terms, which made it very easy and understandable.

B) The moral of the story is that id you work hard enough to do something you the outcome will always come out to your satisfaction. Elzeard did many things to help turn a small rundown place turn into a lively community.

C) Trees create a barrier from the sun so the soil can gather moisture. When a forest is cut down less moisture is out into the atmosphere which could cause a drought to occur in that area. The increased dryness of the area eventually damages the once stable environment.

D)The Fairfax Releaf Organization does the work that Elzeard Bouffeir did to make the environment better. This organization plants trees and restores habitats in Northern Virginia.
