The Man Who Planted Trees

a.) To my surprise, I enjoyed reading this novel. The Man Who Planted Trees was a book filled with motivation and inspiration. I found that the storyline was not just uplifting, but also contained a lesson to be learned. Its amazing how one man can help the environment, simply just by planting trees.
b.) This story proves how one person can do so much to help the environment. Elzeard Bouffier rehabilitated run-down and empty valley by planting trees. I feel that the main lesson/moral of the story is to maintain and keep a healthy environment.
c.) Deforestation greatly impacts land in several ways. The evaporated moisture of soil is usually caused by the cutting down of trees. Due to deforestation, soil is more exposed to the sun. Also without trees, a rise in temperature would occur and cause changes in climate. Planting trees can restore barren land into fertile ground. Reforestation absorbs excess carbon dioxide. Trees also help restore moisture, minerals, etc.
d.) The Arbor Day Foundation is one of the world's largest and oldest tree-planting organization. This foundation began September 3, 1971, and since then its million members plan millions of trees every year. The Arbor Day Foundation is not only looking to inspire people to plan and nurture trees, but also to celebrate them.
